Mack. Peterbilt. Volvo. They’ve heard the names of these engines all their life; maybe they’ve even done some work on them, too. And by the end of their 12 weeks in our shop, our students will know these engines inside and out.
Working on actual customer trucks, Advanced Diesel students experience firsthand what it’s like to work in a fully functioning truck shop—and our graduates join the ranks of some of the best and brightest diesel technicians in the industry.
Core Competencies
- Clutch replacement and reinstallation
- Complete total engine tune-up
- Inspect and reinstall fuel tank
- Perform DOT inspections
- Removal, inspection, and installation of transmissions
- Running diagnostics on the engine, cab, and chassis
- Service and repair brake systems
- Tear down and rebuild Class 8 trucks
- Troubleshoot and run tests
- Use OEM websites
- Work on industry and owned trucks that will go back on the road after completion
- Work with electrical and mechanical issues
