Photography
When using photos to help tell the WyoTech story, choose (or take) images that fall within the guidelines below.
Style
The style for WyoTech photography puts an emphasis on hands-on work and capturing the essence of WyoTech’s training and values. The goal is to showcase real images with a sense of candidness. Generally raw photos are preferred if possible, rather than setting up lighting/staging a scene- photos that seem overly posed should be avoided. Primarily mid- and wide- angle shots are best, to show not only the action taking place, but the project, student, event, etc.
Below are some examples of photography we use.
Types of photoshoots
Program Photoshoots:
A program photoshoot is anything that involves taking pictures of whatever the students are working on in the shops. These are the most common kind of shoot, occurring every couple of phases. The ideal time for a core program photoshoot is during weeks 4-5 of the phase; a specialty program photoshoot should take place during weeks 5-6.
Specific Photoshoots:
A specific photoshoot can include anything from an event on campus (such as career fair, grand opening/ribbon cutting, industry or community partnerships, etc.)

If taking pictures on a cell phone, please make sure they follow the guidelines linked below.
